What you will find
Forecasts for the main towns, beaches, mountains and tourist places of Albania and Kosovo: now, today, tomorrow and 10 days, with a trend up to day 15, plus monthly climate and sea temperatures on the coast. Albania and Kosovo each have their own home page: Albania weather and Kosovo weather.
How the forecasts are made
Forecasts are automated, not written by hand. Every hour we download the forecast of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway) for the first days and the ECMWF model, through our own Open-Meteo server, for the later days. Climate averages come from the EU Copernicus ERA5 reanalysis for 1991–2020. The data sources page lists every source, its licence and how we combine them.
For Albania we automatically show the official natural-hazards bulletin of IGJEUM. For Kosovo we only give our own "Heads-up" notices, derived from the forecast and clearly labelled as unofficial.
What is checked by hand
The editor does not change forecasts. The editor checks place names and their Albanian forms, coordinates and elevations, the hand-written town texts, the sentences the site builds from the data, and whether every source keeps updating. When a source is late, the page says so in amber next to the update time; after 24 hours the forecast is hidden and only climate data remains.
Why it exists
Weather should be quick to read, in correct Albanian and English, even on a phone with a weak connection. Pages are light, with no sign-up and no ads covering the text. Kosovo has its own pages, with the Albanian names of its municipalities and villages.
